50 Cents a Cup

Cafe Agora also supports those a bit more closer to home with our '50 Cents a Cup' programme. Each month 50 cents of every hot beverage sold goes towards our chosen Charity of the Month. This way we are not only supporting the disadvantaged in Thailand but also a local Hamilton Charity or Not-For-Profit Organisation that practically support and help people in Hamilton City.

Our aim is to not only financially back these organisations but to also bring awareness about who these charities are and what they do to the community, with the help of our friends at Free FM. Previous charities of the Month have included StreetWORKS, the Red Cross Refugee Services, and converse.

If you would like to know more about our 50 Cents a Cup Program or how your charity or not-for-profit organisation can get involved email events@agora.net.nz.

Lamai Coffee

Imported by Bright Hope World, it plays a major part in Agora's theme of community. These coffee beans provide a better, more dependable income for poor hill tribe villages in north Thailand and funds Rehab Ministries - a prostitution rehabilitation ministry in Bangkok. The idea of empowering a village to prevent child trafficking while also supporting Rahab, rescuing woman from prostitution and restoring life was a cause we could join.

You can also purchase La Mai coffee online at www.lamai.co.nz It's available in fine grind, plunge grind or whole beans.
