Jeremy Kelsen - Manager
With a love for his family, cycling and Coke, Jeremy brings a friendly face and a great sense of humour into the daily life of the café. In his pre-Agora life Jeremy completed his trade as a glazier in Taranaki before migrating to the Waikato to enter the building trade. Jeremy now spends his days constructing a community within Café Agora through his passion for food and people.
Kylie Gilby - Cook
Kylie just loves life! She injects laughter and enthusiasm into every area of her life while also infecting others with this amazing attitude. It’s this ‘love of life’ approach that makes the kitchen at Café Agora such a fun place to work, with it producing many creative and tasty dishes.
Lorraine Forlong - Assistant Cook
Lorraine has a gift for making people feel at home while also creating an environment with an artistic edge. Having been a major contributor to the dream of Agora becoming a reality, Lorraine continues to help develop the creative and compassionate side of the café.
Volunteers & Gateway Students
The community at Agora is greatly enriched by an amazing team of volunteers who come in each week, donating their time and skills. Café Agora is also proud to be associated with Fraser High School’s Gateway programme. Several local high school students are gaining work experience and skills in the catering industry through their time at Café Agora.
Simon van Wijk - Barista
Simon is the machine-man at Café Agora. As a diesel mechanic in South Auckland and Huntly coal-mine truckie, Simon is well equipped to keep Café Agora’s grinder and coffee machine finely tuned. Simon also has a passion for theatrical lighting and sound which often sees him behind the lighting and sound desk at Agora Events.
Bronson Manual - Kitchen Help
Bronson is a local in his first year out from Fraser High School. Bronson's gift of dance and his love of people brings rhythm to the washroom and a friendly face in Cafe Agora.
