May Charity of the Month
- Parent to Parent -
Who They Are
Every year hundreds of thousands of Kiwi families face the unique challenges of loving and caring for a baby, child or teen who is differently-abled, neurodiverse or has health conditions.
Whether parents discover this from a professional diagnosis, or it’s the result of an accident or illness, it’s never planned, and the lives of all members of the family must adjust in many ways.
Parent to Parent has been walking beside these families for the past 35 years.
What They Do
Parent to Parent provide:
● Information on over 3600 different conditions and anything about them
● Trained volunteer Support Parents to connect with new parents
● Workshops and camps for the brothers and sisters of children with disabilities.
Compassion & Community
At Agora deeply value compassion and community, and as our way of showing this we created our Charity of the Month programme. Our heart is to not only raise money for these local charities by giving 50 cents of every hot beverage sold, but also raise their profile and to see people connected who may have need for their services, or who are moved to get involved, volunteer or donate themselves. We see it as a privilege that although we can't help everyone personally we can partner with those are on the ground serving those in need - whether financially, physically, emotionally or socially.
If you are part of a local Hamilton charity or not for profit and would like to be considered to be one of our charities of the month please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
